We hear jingle bells, crackling fires…
We hear jingle bells, crackling fires, and crunching BlinQ Blossoms! Ah yes, winter is upon us, and so is the time for all those quintessential holiday necessities. While crunching BlinQ Blossoms or the smell of freshly ground Malabar White Peppercorns may not immediately come to mind when imagining your essential holiday trope, we’d like you to consider these beautiful products – they just may become your favorite thing about this time of year.
BlinQ Blossoms
Crunchy, juicy, briny, and straight up beautiful – our BlinQ Blossoms are the caviar of the microgreen world. Tiny bubbles surround a delicate white flower. The bubbles burst in your mouth and are instantly reminiscent of a spoonful of fine caviar. An unforgettable experience! Flavors of pickle and brine make this a perfect accompaniment to fresh shellfish like lobster and oysters. Drop a couple in a dirty martini and become the instant star of your next dinner party.
Micro Mirepoix Mix
The Flavour Fields Micro Mirepoix Mix is a holiday season go to. Its mix of micro carrot, celery, and chive is delicate in texture, but BOLD on flavor. Sprinkle a pinch over roasted beef and lamb, smoked turkey, and roasted root vegetables. A bit of this mix on that leftover turkey sandwich is going to take it to that next level in a jiff.
Tahoon Cress
We like to joke that Tahoon Cress is our Willy Wonka plant – while it may sound ridiculous, it’s true. The flavor of this incredible little plant (which is actually a tree) changes as you chew it. At first, the flavor is nutty and oniony – as you chew it, the flavors morph into a beefy umami packed symphony. This micro is so strong, you don’t need to use much to make an impact. A sprig or two placed on a deviled egg would be incredible – or a sprinkle on a well-rested, crusty rack of lamb. The possibilities are endless, and an elevated umami experience is guaranteed.
Pyramid Salt
If beautiful things are your thing, then we have just the thing for you. Our Pyramid Salt hails from Cyprus Greece, and is created by pumping water from salt ponds into tanks, where it’s agitated and heated, creating a natural pyramid shape with an exquisitely crunchy texture. Incredibly beautiful and decorative. Use it to top a slice of rare seared beef or add some crunch to a caramelized sea scallop. It also works wonderfully on pastries – like a savory spanakopita or a rich dark chocolate mousse.
Malabar White
Malabar White Peppercorns, for the truly advanced foodie, are some of our most complex peppercorns. Notes of earth and must, aged cheese, and wine. This pepper is really perfect for white sauces and delicate vegetables and proteins. Does that mean it’s perfect for turkey? YES! Mashed potatoes too – because black specks in your potatoes are unthinkable right? Don’t make that mistake – white pepper is your best friend!
